A+ School

W.A. Bess Elementary is proud to be an A+ School, where the arts are woven into everyday learning. Students are engaged through hands-on activities that support different learning styles and help them connect with academic content in meaningful ways. Teachers use creative strategies to keep students excited about learning while also promoting positive behavior.

One example is the Bess Bulldogs Spotlight Players, a new theater group for third- through fifth-grade students. Participants take part in one annual production and gain experience with acting, stage management, lighting, script work and video production. At W.A. Bess, the arts are more than just a subject—they’re a powerful tool for building well-rounded learners.
