Will your child need bus transportation to and from school each day?
Please take a moment to complete the W.A. Bess Bus Rider Sign-up Form by August 3. This helps us prepare bus routes and ensure a smooth start to the school year.
Forms submitted after August 3 will follow a 48-hour processing window (business days only, Monday - Friday). Bus service will begin 48 hours after the form is received, starting no earlier than Monday, August 17.
Looking for a career that makes a difference? Gaston County Schools is hosting a job fair on Wednesday, June 18, from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Gaston County Public Library, 1555 E. Garrison Blvd.
The job fair will focus on secondary teaching vacancies, school nutrition positions, and bus driver opportunities.

Kindergarten enrollment for the 2026-27 school year is open. Families can complete the application by visiting the registration page.
Parents with a child who will be starting kindergarten are encouraged to register now.
Gaston County Schools acknowledges the passing of former Board of Education member Kemp Michael.
Beginning June 1, Gaston County Schools is offering its annual summer nutrition program at community sites across the county.
Gaston County Schools will operate on a four-day, 10-hour work week this summer. School and central level offices will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday. All offices will be closed on Friday. Summer hours run through June 1-July 31.
